Question: How do we get started?

We like to start by talking to you on the phone. During the call we complete a simple worksheet and get a feel for the type of ceremony you have in mind. We discuss all of the elements you would like to include. For example, some couples want unity candles, hand-fasting, sand ceremonies or self-written vows. During our conversation, we'll be happy to answer your questions about these additions or discuss any other ideas you may have for your presentation.

After our phone conversation and your deposit is made confirming your reservation, we will present you with a ceremony outline composed with the style and all of the elements that we spoke about. We will discuss it with you and then make changes as needed until you're completely satisfied that the plan for your ceremony best suits the public presentation you wish to make of your commitment to each other. If you choose to have a rehearsal, we can also make adjustments then to ensure everything flows smoothly and that everyone is comfortable with their role in your wedding.

Question: How much notice do you need to arrange a ceremony?

Contact us as soon as you have a specific date in mind. On Saturdays in May through October from 2:00 and 6:00 pm our schedule is filled well in advance. For more date availability options, you might consider planning your wedding for a Friday evening or Sunday.
If you have a time sensitive situation then we can arrange a ceremony in as little as 1 hour + travel time to the wedding location. If we're not available for you on your chosen date and time, we'll gladly refer you to another officiant who may be able to help.

Question: How much do you charge?

Quotes are determined by how far we have to travel and whether or not your wedding day is connected to a holiday weekend. Most services are under $200 with rehearsals being an additional charge.

Question: Do you require a deposit or payment up front?

We require a modest non-refundable deposit to confirm your reservation date unless other arrangements are made. After your deposit is paid and your reservation is confirmed then we will compose and send your ceremony outline. Contact us for more information. Military services are exempt from the deposit requirement

Question: How long are your ceremonies?

Normally between 10 and 30 minutes, depending on your preferences and the plan we discuss.

Question: What do you wear when officiating a ceremony?

We dress to complement our couple's chosen wedding colors and theme. We welcome novelty and costume weddings and will dress for the occasion.

Question: How far will you travel to perform a ceremony?

Our home area is within 50 driving miles or 1 hour from our home near Ft. Knox. We offer extended services up to 120 miles or 2 hours away if requested. Our normal service area includes Metro-Louisville, Elizabethtown and surrounding counties including parts of Southern Indiana.

Question: Are we limited to the number of guests at our ceremony?

The location or venue you choose may have limits on the number of guests due to space or fire regulations. But, we as officiants do not have requirements or limits on the number of guests you invite. Our belief is that you should have as few (2 witnesses are legally needed) or as many as you wish.

Question: What if we may need to make special arrangements for the wedding party or guests?

We're experienced in assisting couples who need a little extra attention to make their wedding a truly personal and memorable event. Any reasonable request (and a few unreasonable ones) will be accommodated. Please let us know what you'll require when making your reservation.

Question: We were secretly married and now want a public ceremony for our family and friends.

We believe that you as a couple should have your wedding day however you desire. We are happy to put together a ceremony of your choosing and officiate as if it's the first time with your new spouse. Our discretion is assured and we'll help make your public ceremony the wedding of your dreams.

Question: What if we're of different religious backgrounds?

Our approach to weddings is very accommodating. We will personalize your ceremony to give you the perfect mix of secular and/or religious elements depending on your individual preferences.

Question: What if we are currently living together, or are previously divorced?

Not a problem. We'll be happy to officiate at your wedding, no matter what your circumstances or living arrangements are. Because of our flexibility, many couples choose us because other ministers and officiants might decline or have declined to perform their wedding. We do our best to make everyone feel welcome.

Question: Do you perform ceremonies for same sex or LGBT couples?

Yes. We perform weddings for LGBT couples. We have several years of experience performing commitment services and we're excited to finally be able to offer legally recognized marriage ceremonies for our couples.

Question: Do you perform church weddings?

Yes. We will officiate at an existing place of worship with permission. We do not have our own facilities at this time.
